Manufacturing Engineer

Description:
Plans and designs manufacturing processes in industrial plant. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.

Job Duties:

  • New product/process development
  • IS0-9000 Knowledge
  • Non-conforming material reports including material review and root cause analysis.
  • Corrective action implementation and verification
  • Implementation & Verification of production documentation
  • Warranty issues: product returns and reworks
  • CAD drawings: Controlling and creating prints for fixturing, tooling, QC, plant layouts.
  • Manufacturing projects: research, design, quote, report and coordinate with management
  • CNC programming verification
  • Production efficiencies: Set up times, machine utilization
  • Part improvement: quality, cycle time, cosmetic appearance
  • SPC: Initiate and improve real time spc and utilize information in place to control processes better
  • Initiate & participate in mfg new product development meetings
  • Insure new products are being produced in a timely manner

  • Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering and 2-7 years of automotive experience or in a related field.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a aluminum casting and machining field.
  • Computer literate, must know Microsoft Office applications and MS Project, must have some CAD/CAM experience
  • Experience in cnc programming
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Capable of lifting 50lbs
  • Prolong sitting, walking, stooping, bending.
  • Able to work at a computer for long periods of time

    Jig and Fixture Builder - Tooling

    Description:
    Edelbrock has an immediate opening for a qualified Jig and Fixture Builder for our Tooling Department. Position is full time (40hr week) and is located in Edelbrock's corporate location in Torrance, Ca.

    Qualification:

  • Requires a high school diploma and at least 5 years of experience in a related area.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Be able to read machining blueprints
  • Knowledge of machine cutting tools and finishes
  • CAD/CAM experience a plus
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Lift up to 50lbs

  • Responsibilites:

  • Machine and assembles a variety of standard and non-standard jigs, fixtures and related tooling for the production machining of automotive engine components. Ensures jigs function appropriately for the process being used.
  • Responsible for determining methods and sequence of operations and scheduling work to be performed from tool design drawings.
  • Assist and give input on design of jigs and fixture details and holding devices.
  • Will be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures.
  • Ability to operate a wide variety of machines: CNC milling machine, Manual vertical mill, engine lathe, surface grinder, drill press, band saw, belt & disc sanders.

    SUPPLY CHAIN - Strategic Sourcing Specialist

    Description:
    Edelbrock has an immediate opening for a qualified Strategic Sourcing Specialist. Position is full time (40hr week) and is located in Edelbrock's corporate location in Torrance, Ca.

    Qualification:

  • Must have over 5-10 years of experience to include international sourcing
  • Understand and exposure to marketing and sales forecasting for Finish Goods
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Must have an understanding and use of Oracle.
  • Must have an understanding and familiarity with manufacturing processes
  • Must have advance negotiation skills
  • Must have ability to multi-task
  • Must be highly motivated, team-oriented and have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Must have leadership skills and be able to run meetings
  • Must have strong written and oral skills and be able to effectively present information to peers and upper management
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and recommend corrective actions.

  • Responsibilites:

  • Performs supply chain sourcing for $15-30M in Finish Goods business to meet customer service goals and meet production requirements;
  • Develops commodity implementation strategies and coordinates the strategic supplier on-boarding process.
  • Develops sourcing plans based on demand and manufacturing constraints;
  • Oversees finished goods inventory to minimize non-saleable inventory;
  • Partners with other departments, including Customer Service, R&D, Quality Assurance, and MFG to resolve issues impacting areas of responsibilities;
  • Manages long term strategic suppliers and participates in supplier capacity reviews;
  • Supports R & D / Engineering, Sales and procurement needs driven by new product launches;
  • Discusses and reviews plans with management;
  • Performs any other related duties delegated by manager.

This will involve resolving production schedule conflicts and expediting material supply shortages to fill orders.     Qualification:

  • Be a pro-active individual with a "can-do" attitude.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • BA, BS or equivalent with a supply chain planning/ materials emphasis.
  • APICS certification preferred. ISM/CPM Certified extra
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise System. 11i extra
  • Knowledge of MRP, BOM's and ECO's.
  • Ability to execute problem solving techniques.
  • Strong computer skills to include MS Office Suite
  • Able to use time efficiently and prioritize and plan work activities.

  • Responsibilites:

  • Create production schedules which balance the workload to maximize operation efficiency, output, and customer due dates.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions / planned orders to meet the master production schedule material requirements, and inventory targets.
  • Provide planning solutions for any material shortages, equipment downtime, or other constraints.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing, purchasing, customer service, and quality control as required ensuring the completion of plans.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees/departments.
