Copywriter

Education:
Minimum AA Degree or Baccalaureates Degree preferred in the field or in a related area

Responsibility:
Copywriter is responsible for creating, proofing and editing various forms of copy for use in literature, online and video media. Must have the ability to research and understand a wide range of technical topics referring to the automotive aftermarket industry, specifically engine performance products. This individual will work closely with in the Advertising Department and with the Engineering and Technical Departments in order to translate product changes for use in various materials. Copywriter should have a track record of producing interesting, exciting, concise and accurate copy for consumer and retailer audiences. Must have the ability to communicate highly technical information to the general public in a reader-friendly manner.

Copywriter will rely on Engineering Release Notes, brainstorming and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Will also need to perform a variety of tasks as requested. These tasks will include basic use of graphic design applications as needed. This individual will need to work under general supervision and will report to the Director of Advertising.

- Writing clear, persuasive, original copy for use in advertisements and marketing materials
- Writing technical short and long product descriptions for use in various catalogs and databases
- Meeting with Engineering and Sales teams to discuss product requirements and expectations
- Develop knowledge of various product lines
- Assist in proofreading and editing documents company wide
- Compose Press Releases and Media Blasts
- Compose exciting copy for use in advertisements
- Work in a close-knit partnership with the Advertising personnel to generate workable concepts and ideas
- Ability to network with media for editorial and PR inclusion
- Assist with internal newsletter production
- Keep up to date with popular industry culture and trends
- Helping to build and maintain reference library for copy group
- Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:

Journalism experience a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
Working knowledge of QuarkXPress a plus
Working knowledge of the Macintosh OS software
Valid CA driver?s license and good driving record

Research & Development Technician for the Shock Division.

Education:
OPEN

Responsibility:
Develop and document new products developed at Edelbrock's Shock Division. Work directly with Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing to bring new products to market. Tune and develop new damper applications. Document new products per ISO requirements. Communicate and interact with other manufacturers. Fabricate prototype parts for test fit and evaluation. Research and record model year updates and document. Generate instruction sheets for new products.

Experience:
Automotive technical degree and/or working experience as an R&D technician. Basic understanding of automotive suspension.. Ability to generate part sketches and read blueprints, Ability to operate machinery such as presses, press breaks, drill presses etc. Brazing and welding experience is recommended. CNC Programmer / Set-Up Tech

Education:
Knowledge of vertical & horizontal cnc machining centers, Haas & Fanuc cnc controls. Basic tooling, machining and inspection skills. Must be able to read blueprints. CAD/CAM, Microsoft Office, ISO-9000 procedure knowledge is helpful.

Responsibility:
Daily setups of horizontal/vertical machining centers on automotive parts. Must be able to do setup from start to finish with first article 100% buy off. Make minor changes to existing cnc programs and tooling when necessary. Follow all production documentation (ie. setup sheets, routing sheets, blueprints) and advise on any changes.

Technical Sales

Education:

Responsibility:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong background in the high-performance automotive aftermarket industry. Basic computer skills are a must. The chosen candidate for this position will be handling a high volume of incoming technical related phone calls, and possibly some e-mails and other customer-related issues, as well as interfacing with our sales dept and attending technical briefings.

Experience:
Knowledge of Cylinder Heads, Intake Manifolds, carburetors, valve train and other related components is required. Knowledge of Ford and/or Mopar is a Plus!
