INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 5, 2002) – Edelbrock’s Victor 24° as-cast cylinder head (PN 77409), which debuted in the Edelbrock booth (#1517) at the PRI trade show at Indianapolis, is the latest evolution of conventional port location heads for large bore big-block Chevrolets. Based on the Victor head (PN 77609), it features a rolled over deck, altered valve locations and revised 115-116cc combustion chambers. The head is angle-machined 2.4° and the valve locations are altered to improve flow and combustion efficiency. The new valve spread accommodates valve sizes up to 2.45-inch intake or 1.92-inch exhaust. The 345cc ports are significantly smaller than PN 77609 but flow 400+ cfm, a higher velocity flow for improved response to throttle transients common in bracket racing. All geometry has been developed using PRO-E 3-D software to ensure ultimate valve train tracking and stability. The head arrives ready to assemble and race. Just add your own roller cam and valve springs. A matching stud girdle is offered for those who want to use stud-mounted rocker arms. With included state-of-the-art stainless steel valves, the head assembly is finished with a valve job and bowl-blending and arrives machined for its 2.30-inch intake and 1.82-inch exhaust valves.
