TORRANCE, Calif. (August 16, 2002) – Edelbrock has teamed with drag racer Billy Glidden to develop a competition nitrous oxide nozzle capable of delivering 500-plus horsepower gains using a single-stage direct port injection system. The patent-pending Series 2 design precisely atomizes the nitrous and fuel mixture, assuring consistent and accurate gains in horsepower. The new nozzles feature a 1/16-inch NPT design utilizing a 90-degree install, which is a direct bolt-on upgrade for most competitors’ nitrous nozzles. By pre-atomizing the fuel before it’s mixed with the nitrous, the new nozzles produce a better, more homogenous mixture. "Before we switched to the new nitrous nozzles, we would only get one race on the engine before we killed some parts," said Billy Glidden. "With our black car (the world’s quickest Fox-body Super Street Outlaw car with a 7.71 elapsed time on a 10.5 tire) we put 45 runs on the engine before taking it apart. These new nozzles are so friendly, we can produce great power without hurting parts." The new nitrous nozzles (PN 72552) provide the extra power needed for competition, and will be available soon in a complete Edelbrock nitrous system. Suggested retail price is $59.95 each, available at Edelbrock retailers. Download photo.
