Famed performance manufacturer will host BBQ dinner, special contest for local high school students Edelbrock chose the Kansas City stop on the multi-city tour and the 64-year-old performance company is going all out. Besides having one of its massive trailers filled with performance products and literature on hand, Edelbrock will be handing out limited-edition collectible hats to all Power Tour participants. Activities include a super-cool car show, featuring hundreds of muscle cars, classics, street rods and other highly modified vehicles, plus a tasty BBQ meal at 3 p.m. Edelbrock’s special guests include a group of local high school automotive students who will rebuild a legendary Edelbrock carburetor for a chance to win prizes and trophies. "Edelbrock’s generous participation with the local high schools is a dream come true," said Jack Stow, automotive instructor, North Kansas City School District. Stow said students would participate from North Kansas City High School, Oak Park and Winnetonka. "My students are licking their chops in anticipation of the contest." The annual Hot Rod Power Tour, now in its eighth year, is put on by Primedia’s Hod Rod magazine. Edelbrock has been a sponsor since its inception.
