- Edelbrock Celebrates Past, Present
and Future at 2003 SEMA Show
TORRANCE, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2003) – Edelbrock will look to the future as well as its past during the 2003 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nov. 4-7.
Edelbrock will unveil more than 100 new performance products at the 2003 Specialty Equipment Market Association’s annual convention. The new products reinforce Edelbrock’s position as the undisputed leader of the automotive performance aftermarket industry.
The Edelbrock booth (#22243) will also feature the original 1932 Ford Roadster that Vic Edelbrock Sr. used to test the very first Edelbrock performance products, and raced on the dry lakebeds of Southern California in the 1930s and 40s. The car is making its first appearance since its restoration by renowned hot rod builder Roy Brizio.
The new products span the needs of performance fans everywhere, with products for Ford Motor Company vehicles, the official manufacturer of the 2003 SEMA Show, Chevrolets, Chryslers, Hondas, Jeeps and more. Edelbrock will unveil shocks, turbochargers, carburetors, headers, manifolds and many other items during the aftermarket industry’s main event.
The Edelbrock Corporation is a founding member of SEMA, and was integral to the organization’s creation in 1963, and Vic Edelbrock Jr. is a past president of SEMA. The two organizations have witnessed tremendous growth and success side-by-side in the automotive aftermarket.
Edelbrock’s depth and breadth of product is unmatched. Their product line now features more than 7,500 products designed, engineered and manufactured using state-of-the-art technology in the USA.
Edelbrock “Gets its Kicks”…
…in year 66. Founded in 1938 by Vic Edelbrock Sr., the Edelbrock Corporation began with the development of the “Slingshot” manifold, which was tested on that same 1932 Ford Roadster. Since then, the company has been at the forefront of automotive performance, producing performance products for street, track, and off-road vehicles in Chicago, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Gallup, New Mexico, Flagstaff, Arizona (don't forget Winona), Kingman, Barstow and San Bernardino, among others.
2004 will mark the company’s 66th year of operation as the leader in automotive performance. Vic Edelbrock Jr. took over the company after his father’s death in 1962, and has helped turn Edelbrock into a $115 million corporation with customers worldwide. Under Vic Jr.’s leadership, the company’s product line has expanded to include everything from cylinder heads and exhaust systems to shock absorbers, turbos and fuel injection systems.
