- Edelbrock Expands Turbo Line With Two New Performer X Turbo Kits
TORRANCE, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2003) – As promised, Edelbrock is continuing to add to its offerings of turbos, this time delivering two new Edelbrock Performer X Turbocharger kits for Honda Civics at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas (Nov. 4-7) in booth #22243.
Edelbrock entered a new arena of automotive performance with the unveiling of the Performer X Turbo system (#1500) for 1996-00 Honda Civic SOHC VTEC D16Y8 engines at last spring’s SEMA International Auto Salon. More turbo kits were promised, and once again, Edelbrock has come up with these new products:

Performer X Turbo Kit #1501, for 1999-00 Honda Civic Si (B16A2, DOHC), is complete from the Garrett T28 ball bearing turbo to the pillar-mounted boost gauge. The pre-tuned piggyback control unit fires four extra pico injectors mounted to the Edelbrock Performer X manifold. The turbo unit comes pre-assembled with a Ni-resist cast exhaust manifold and elbow, and inlet oil and water lines for the simplest possible installation. Works with premium pump gas to give 60% more power than stock. 50-state street legal status is pending.
Performer X Turbo Kit #1502, for 1992-95 VTEC Honda Civics (B16A2 DOHC), is a complete kit as well. Due to the higher rpm and higher horsepower potential, Edelbrock has increased the turbo to a Garrett T28R turbo with an Edelbrock Victor X series intake manifold. All Edelbrock turbo kits use high-quality Russell Twist-Lok oil, water and fuel lines, plus Edelbrock’s unique oil filter sandwich adapter to supply high-pressure oil to the turbo. 50-state street legal status is pending.
