TORRANCE, Calif. (Nov. 18, 2004) -Edelbrock's highly regarded line of turbo systems engineered for Honda Civics has a new member, with the introduction of the Performer X turbo kit for the 1999-00 Honda Civic Si.

Edelbrock's Performer X turbo system (#1501) is engineered specifically for 1999-00 Honda Civics equipped with the B16A2 DOHC VTEC engine. Like all Edelbrock products, the Performer X Turbo Kit comes with all components needed for installation, and is the most complete 50-state legal kit available for Civics.

In dyno tests, the Performer X Turbo kit delivered a 58 percent power boost over stock from 139 whp to 220 whp.

The Garrett GT28RS ball-bearing turbocharger with integral wastegate comes pre-assembled with an Edelbrock-designed high-temperature Ni-resist cast exhaust manifold. The pre-assembled cast iron exhaust elbow has inlet oil and water lines connected for the simplest possible installation.

The system includes a high-performance Victor X intake manifold with four auxiliary fuel injectors, fuel rail and a pre-calibrated electronic controller to add fuel and change the spark timing under boosted conditions.

It also has an oversized Spearco intercooler and Tial blow-off valve. The Edelbrock exhaust manifold and elbow are designed for maximum flow at high-velocity for quicker turbo spool-up. Edelbrock has included an AutoMeter boost gauge with A-pillar mount pod, and pre-assembled Russell oil, water and fuel lines to make this the most complete kit on the market. It also features an O-ring sealed compressor, inlet/outlet pipe flanges, ceramic-coated turbo piping and high-flow air filter, plus all necessary gaskets, adapters, and detailed installation instructions.

Edelbrock's Performer X Turbo kit will have a street price of $4,306.97. Kits will be available at Edelbrock retailers nationwide.
