LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Nov. 1, 2004) - It's a marriage made in performance heaven: The Edelbrock Corporation and Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE), two of the most respected and renowned names in performance, have teamed up on two new Performer RPM cylinder heads for LS1 engines, which are debuting in the Edelbrock booth (#22243) at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The cylinder heads, #61969 and #61979, will be produced and sold as Edelbrock products in 2005. According to Jack Mayberry, Edelbrock vice president of R&D, the new cylinder heads are made specifically for 1997 and later Gen III small-block GM engines and will fit a variety of vehicles, including "virtually every V8 application in the fleet." That includes many of GM's pickups, SUVs, Corvettes (including the 5.7L), Camaros and H2s. Engine sizes range from 4.8L economy versions to stout 5.3Ls to high-powered 6.0L. Both cylinder heads feature accessory bosses on the cylinder head end, heli-coiled rocker studs and exhaust bolt holes, and reinforced rocker bosses. #61969 is completely finished and ready to bolt-on. It has high-quality stainless steel valves, a 65 cc combustion chamber, finished seats machined for 2.02" intake and 1.57" exhaust valves, and is CNC ported by Lingenfelter. #61979 is the bare version and is designed to be ported with the chambers extremely small to allow a variety of finished sizes.
