TORRANCE, Calif. (May 6, 2005) - Hot rods, cool customs, famous nostalgic drag cars and Vic Edelbrock Jr. Talk about hot rod heaven! That will be the scene at the 11th annual Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival's hot rod & custom show, Sat., May, 14 at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton, Calif. Edelbrock is the Honorary Chairman that day and is bringing a few special cars from his collection, along with the company's product display trailer. Plus, he will be signing the just-released, 325-page book, Edelbrock: Made in USA.

"This is going to be a fun event with lots of great cars," said Edelbrock, "and I'm honored to be a part of it. I'm bringing my dad's original '32 Roadster, the car he raced on the dry lakes and used to develop some of the first Edelbrock products."

Edelbrock, president and CEO of the 67-year-old Edelbrock Corporation, will also be at the Muckenthaler gala charity event on Saturday night.

"What better person to have at an event featuring hot rods and nostalgic race cars than Vic Edelbrock Jr.?" said Tom Lentini, director of the Muckenthaler Culture Cruise. "The Edelbrock company, name and family have played a major role in the Southern California car culture and we're pleased to salute them."

Lentini said other legendary cars that will be on display include the Stone, Woods and Cook Gasser, Big John Mazmanian's Gasser, the Winged Express, Freight Train, Speed Sport Roadster, the Louksa AA Coupe and others. "The theme is nostalgic drag racing and we really have some historic cars on display. These, along with Vic Edelbrock, will make this year's show truly special."

The Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival features several car-themed events including a drive-in movie night on May 11, the Hot Rod Culture Cruise on May 14 and a Concours d'Elegance on May 15. For details on attending, call 714/780-8382 or visit www.muckenthaler.org/carshow .
