TORRANCE, Calif. (July 15, 2005) - Edelbrock's new High-Flo TPI Vortec Intake Manifold Baseplate gives you options in the quest for better performance for select 1985-1992 Tuned Port Injected small-block Vortec Chevy engines. This new manifold baseplate (#3817) allows any Corvette, Camaro or Firebird owner to take advantage of the superior flow characteristics of Edelbrock's E-Tec series heads, or they can choose to run the free flowing 1996 and later GM cast iron Vortec heads or aluminum Fast Burn heads. These options are available while still using the factory (or aftermarket) tuned port injection (TPI) system thanks to the design of the Edelbrock High-Flo TPI Vortec Baseplate. The High-Flo baseplate is compatible with all current OEM and aftermarket equipment, including the stock Corvette EGR system, while still allowing the TPI Chevy to make the jump to the next level in performance. For optimum results, the High-Flo Vortec baseplate should be matched with Edelbrock High-Flo TPI Runners (#3865 & #3870), which work with Edelbrock's High-Flo baseplate and either stock or ported stock baseplates. The runners can be matched with aftermarket heads and high performance cams for improved performance. Compatible with stock fittings and emissions related features, no changes are necessary to the stock computer to install these runners. For 1985-88 engines, use Edelbrock #3865, and for 1989 and later small-block Chevy engines, refer to #3870. A replacement gasket set is supplied with the runners.
