TORRANCE, Calif. (Aug. 10, 2005) - Continuing to help automotive students realize their career goals as well as supporting schools that offer a strong automotive curriculum, Vic Edelbrock Jr. today awarded WyoTech student Kyle Krawczyk a $5,500 check as winner of the 2005 Vic Edelbrock Sr./WTI Foundation Scholarship in a ceremony at the Laramie, WY, campus.

"This is the second year of our scholarship program with WyoTech and we're extremely pleased with it," said Edelbrock, president and CEO of Edelbrock Corp. "WyoTech is a prestigious automotive technical institute. Its programs are strong and produce knowledgeable automotive students who are eager and ready to work. Our industry definitely needs them."

On scholarship winner Krawczyk, Edelbrock had nothing but praise for the 20-year-old student. "What a deserving individual," Edelbrock said. "Kyle has maintained a very high grade average, likes racing, hot rods and working on cars. I'm glad we at Edelbrock can help him continue his automotive endeavors."

For Krawczyk, who hails from Applegate, Calif., the scholarship is dream come true. "I'm very surprised and honored," he said. "I think its great that Vic Edelbrock helps automotive students with scholarships like this. I'm so thankful to him because it really helps."

Krawczyk and Edelbrock drew praise from Dale Eslinger, executive director of the WTI Foundation. "We consider it an honor and a privilege to be associated with the Edelbrock name and to be able to award this annual academic scholarship to a student such as Kyle Krawczyk," Eslinger said. "Kyle embodies the professionalism, work ethic and passion that signify an Edelbrock Scholarship recipient. The competition for the Vic Edelbrock Sr. Scholarship Award is incredibly stiff. The parameters are set up to identify the most outstanding students according to grades, attendance record, work ethic, professionalism, and passion for the high-performance engine industry. Out of 25 remarkable candidates, Kyle left a significant impression on our Scholarship Selection Committee. His drive to succeed in this line of work coupled with his phenomenal academic performance in the classroom made him the obvious choice for the Edelbrock Scholarship. We at the WTI Foundation wish Kyle all the best in his career and we know he will be an asset to the high-performance engine industry." WyoTech, which has campuses in Laramie, Wy., Sacramento, Calif., and Blairsville, Pa., offers a specialized automotive curriculum, including training in street rods, custom trim and upholstery, diesel, service management and collision/refinishing.

Edelbrock also gives automotive students scholarships at South Torrance High in California and at the Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland, Kans.
