Edelbrock Joins the '07 Hot Rod Power Tour for the 12th Consecutive Year
With Three Long Haulers and a Cruise Night Sponsorship in Springfield, IL
TORRANCE, CA (March 14, 2007) Vic Edelbrock will join his wife Nancy, daughters Camee and Christi as well as his brother-in-law Fred Crook in some "real world" testing on the Hot Rod Power Tour. The Edelbrock family will meet the tour on Monday, June 4th in Racine, Wisconsin. Vic says, "We are proud to be a Cruise Night sponsor and have supported the tour since '95. It gives me the opportunity to talk to hundreds of our customers, drive some of my favorite cars and be with my family at the same time. Also, the tour gives me the opportunity to check out a few of our new products under all kinds of conditions."
Of course, the Power Tour is all about the cars. Vic will sit behind the wheel of his '67 Chevelle powered by a new Edelbrock crate engine that pumps out 555 hp and 664 ft/lbs. of torque. Called the "Triple Nickel", this engine delivers all this performance along with the drivability that's important on the Tour. Vic will give this engine a vigorous test as he hammers the throttle to keep up with his daughters. Camee and Christi will be driving the Posie-built, Edelbrock red '57 Chevy in celebration of the car's 50th anniversary. As seen on the cover of Hot Rod magazine, this ride puts out 460 hp from the customized 383-inch small-block Chevy. To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Deuce, brother-in-law Fred will cruise in his black '32 Ford Roadster along with his wife Cathy.
Once again, Edelbrock will be serving Larry Price's Whole Hog BBQ at their Cruise Night in Springfield, Illinois. Everyone who has been on a Hot Rod Power Tour will testify to the fact that this dinner is one of the most anticipated events on the run. Another special event on the Edelbrock night will be the Carburetor Contest for a local school's automotive class. In a timed competition, these students are asked to disassemble an Edelbrock Performer Series carburetor, adjust calibration, and put it back together before a crowd of Power Tour participants. Every year, this test of carb-building skills gets more interesting. Also, Power Tour attendees will have a chance to win an Edelbrock jacket and an autographed "Edelbrock: Made in USA" hardbound book. Vic and family will be available to personalize the book and to sign autographs as well. The entire Edelbrock team is looking forward to another successful Hot Rod Power Tour. Make sure to visit the Edelbrock product display trailer that will be at every stop. If you don't have a chance to attend, go to www.edelbrock.com for the latest new product information and more.
