Installation Notes
The Edelbrock #9693 is made specifically for AMC engines; Be sure that the surface of the block and the surface of the head are thoroughly cleaned to remove any oily film before installation.; Use alcohol or lacquer thinner on a lint-free rag to clean.; #60109 and #60119 heads will have to apply a thin bead of silicone around the oil drain back provisions. This will prevent any leaks that may occur. CAUTION: The silicon bead on OEM type head gaskets will overlap these provisions. The addition of the silicone bead will help provide a better seal.; Apply oil or suitable thread lubricant to head bolt threads and the underside of bolt heads and washers.; Using the torque sequence (See Figure 1), torque all 7/16" bolts to 65-70 ft./lbs and all 1/2" bolts to 100-110 ft./lbs in four steps (30, 40, 50, 60-75; or 30, 60, 90, 100-110).
