Edelbrock part #45070 E-Street Long-Block is an affordably priced option for any builder who already owns an Edelbrock intake manifold as well as carburetor and wants to step up to a crate engine. This long-block is the ideal bottom end for any high Performance's street build as it comes with a 100% brand new short-block with 4-bolt main and 2-piece rear main seal, cast iron crankshaft and cast aluminum pistons. Next, Edelbrock E-Street cylinder heads and Performer Series camshaft are added. E-Street heads are designed for high Performance's street applications and feature larger than stock intake and exhaust ports to improve engine efficiency. These heads also include hardened spring cups and Heli-coil threaded inserts in the rocker stud bosses. The E-Street Long-Block is then finished off with Edelbrock Signature Series valve covers and breather. Installation Notes
Max RPM 5,500 (DO NOT EXCEED); Ships with no oil inside of engine; Your engine is supplied with 6 qtrs. of Edelbrock Break-In Oil in the crate. Before starting engine, you will need to prime the oil system. Do not turn engine over with starter motor for priming.; Block is equipped for different dipstick locations. Plug the one you are not using with supplied plugs.; It is important when first starting the engine to keep the rpm above 2,000 for the first 30 minutes. Make sure all fluid levels are topped off and all lines and hoses are hooked up correctly. The break in must be done non-stop. Otherwise, the cam will not break-in properly. This is also a good time to look for leaks of any kind.
