Edelbrock sand cast aluminum LS Series Coil Covers part #4118 are a great way to dress up the LS1 in your street rod or muscle car. These coil covers are designed to eliminate the stock mounting brackets on transplanted LS1 engines by way of fitting coils directly to the underside of the Edelbrock cover. They are intended to create a clean under hood custom appearance and will not fit stock vehicles. These covers accept GM #12558948 coils or aftermarket equivalent replacement coils such as MSD #8245.

Installation Notes
Note: These covers are intended for custom hot rod applications. As such, they may not clear all the hoses, emission hardware,; and/or accessories found in a stock application. Modification of the covers may be necessary for use in such an application.; 1.Disconnect and remove the spark plug wires and set them aside for reinstallation later, then detach the wiring harness connector.; Unbolt and remove the bracket with the coils attached. At this time, test fit the coil covers on the engine to ensure they will fit; your application without interference.; 2. Once the fit has been verified, separate the wiring loom enough to disconnect the small clips securing it to the bracket, then; remove the individual coils from the bracket. The stock coil mounting bracket can be set aside or discarded as it will not be; reused. Mount the ignition coils to the underside of the covers using the stock bolts, carefully routing the wires so as to prevent them from being pinched or damaged.; 3. Attach the supplied reusable tie wrap to the center provision on the underside of the coil cover using the supplied #6 cap screw.; Use the tie wrap to secure the wiring harness connector to the cover, then install the spark plug wires onto the ignition coils.; The coil cover can then be secured by threading the supplied bolts into the mounting holes of the valve cover. Use a dummy; bolt secured with a nut to fill any mounting holes in the coil cover that do not correspond with a threaded boss in the valve cover.; 4. Attach the ignition wires to the spark plugs and your installation is complete. Installation is the same for both sides of the engine,; but be aware that the engine oil dipstick tube may need to be bent outward slightly to clear the passenger side cover.
