Installation Notes
  • Ships with no oil inside of engine; Your engine is supplied with Edelbrock Break-In Oil in the crate. Before starting engine, you will need to prime the oil system. Do not turn engine over with starter motor for priming.; Block is equipped for different dipstick locations. Plug the one you are not using with supplied plugs.; It is important when first starting the engine to keep the rpm above 2,000 for the first 30 minutes.; Make sure all fluid levels are topped off and all lines and hoses are hooked up correctly. The break in must be done non-stop. Otherwise, the cam will not break-in properly. This is also a good time to look for leaks of any kind.; These engines are not supplied with the crankshaft bolt due to many different applications. The customer must purchase and install the crankshaft bolt that matches the given application.
